“In spaces where silence and emotional containment are essential, every detail matters. These interventions aimed to bring a sense of calm through simplicity.”
I was part of the team responsible for interior renovations at a hospital in Medellín. The main goal was to improve several waiting areas while strictly adhering to healthcare regulations, which limited the use of materials and decorative elements.
Despite these constraints, we managed to transform cold, purely functional spaces into environments that felt more welcoming and calm for patients and their families. Through subtle changes—such as strategic use of lighting, color, and furniture—we were able to significantly improve the atmosphere without compromising the technical requirements of the clinical setting.
